Pleasant Plains High School Addition

Pleasant Plains, IL

Client: Pleasant Plains CUSD #8

Architect: BLDD Architects

Project Summary

The Pleasant Plains High School Addition project, built for the Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District #8, included the 23,500-square foot education addition to a high school located in Pleasant Plains, IL. The facility supports approximately 458 students in grades Nine through Twelve. The education addition was constructed of a precast structural frame with a brick exterior. The project also featured a new kitchen, cafeteria, and gymnasium with a weight room to replace an outdated kitchen and undersized cafeteria and gymnasium as well as an auditorium style stage on the north side of the building, a new entrance, and computer room. The installation of an energy efficient geothermal heating and cooling system completed the project. Due to CORE's educational building expertise, the Pleasant Plains High School project addition helps to alleviate school overcrowding in an energy efficient and updated facility.
