The Lusher High School Refurbishment project, completed for the Orleans Parish School Board, involved 160,600 square feet of extensive renovations to an existing school campus in New Orleans, LA. The existing school campus, in which some of the buildings were originally constructed in 1929, received a replacement of the existing SBS roof, the restoration and re-glazing of wood and steel windows, a replacement of the first and second floor exterior doors, the installation of new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems, the installation of a new subsurface drainage system, exterior masonry restoration, and the construction of two new canopy structures. Through thorough planning, comprehensive construction scheduling, and the utilization of temporary classroom trailers, the historic school remained in operation throughout construction. The Lusher High School Refurbishment project won the ENR Award of Merit for Renovation and Restoration.
