CoxHealth Emergency Department

Springfield, MO

Client: Beck/Walton Jpint Venture

Architect: The Beck Group

Project Summary

The CoxHealth Emergency Department project, built as a Joint Venture between Walton|CORE and Beck Group, included the new construction of a one story 80,500 square foot emergency room facility located in Springfield, MO. The facility supports the CoxHealth South Group Hospital and houses advanced imaging, laboratory services, and state-of-the-art disaster management facilities. The emergency room facility was constructed of a structural steel frame with an exterior consisting of metal panels, metal veneer, and curtain walls. A modified bituminous standing seam roof completed the construction. The project also featured critical care rooms, psychiatric care areas, full radiology suite, adult and pediatric trauma bays, a cardiac monitored observation unit, mini laboratory, and a dedicated pharmacy. Due to CORE's green construction practices, the CoxHealth Emergency Department provides an environmentally friendly addition to the CoxHealth South Group Hospital campus.
